I am the owner and Head Instructor of Martial Arts
Institute. I have been involved at Martial Arts Institute since my early
twenties were I started my training in 1989 under Grand Master Louis Castaneda
in the art of Yen Ch'ing Tao
( Kenpo ) .
Yen Ch'ing Tao is founded by Grand Master Douglas Mc.Leod a 1st generation Mr.
Ed. Parker student.
In 1993 I received my Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt) in Yen Ch'ing Tao. Then my Sandan
(3rd Degree Black Belt) in 1998 also from G.M. Louis Castaneda. Since that
time I have continued my training and in 2002 I earned my 6th Degree Black Belt and
Master's Degree from Shihan Everett Rodriguez.
I also have a been honored with a
Black Belt from Senior Grand Master Edmund Parker's International American Kenpo Karate Association, and I have a Black Belt
in the art of Limalama awarded to me by Grand Master
Tuumamao "Tino" Tuiolosega.
I hold a Sandan (3rd Degree Black
Belt) in Yasashii Do Martial Arts founded by Shihan Everett
Rodriguez.
I am currently training at Claudio Franca Brazilian-Jiu-Jitsu
in Santa Cruz Ca.. I am a personal student of Professor Claudio Franca and
received my Blue Belt on December 2nd 2006, my 2nd Degree Blue in 2007 and my 4th Degree
in 2008. I entered the U.S. Open in Santa Cruz Ca. and won Gold in 2006
and 2007. In 2008 I won Gold three out of four times at Jiu-Jitsu By The
Sea, I also I took home Silver and Bronz at the O.T.M Submission Championship in
Long Beach California.
I am a father of two children and Grandfather to one. I am a an avid Surfer for the last twenty five years, with a
great respect for the ocean and our environment.
